Thank You Very Much!

It's my favorite time of the year! I love the whole fall into winter turn of the seasons, and I especially love the holiday season. I think maybe having my birthday so close to Christmas must have made it just that much more special to me growing up. And I love the music and all the fun and sappy Christmas movies and specials too. I didn't know it then, but when I was 10 I discovered what was to become my favorite one of all. It was 1970 and I saw that year the made for TV musical production of Scrooge.... Read More...

Tempus Fugit

Well, fugitting has ensued for sure. V's three week holiday here in the states has come and gone, just like that. I never knew three weeks could fly by so fast!
Now the place feels awfully empty without her being here. Even the cats are missing her, both Midnight and Josie sleep now on the bed in V's spot and on a hoodie sweat shirt that V was wearing on the cool mornings. And all three of them are wondering about the sudden reduction in their treat quota, LOL! Yes, V was The Giver Of Treats, and she is sorely missed. ^-^ Read More...

Pete Fountain "The Blues"

When I was in Jr. High my big sister came home with a Pete Fountain album called "The Blues". It was right around the time I was obsessed with Tolkien's The Hobbit, and as I read and re-read that book, this album was playing and playing, and playing again, over and over. To this day I can't hear a song from Pete Fountain's "The Blues" without seeing in my mind's eye Thorin Oakenshield & Company riding their ponies in the rain, cloak hoods pulled up against the wet wind with little Bilbo Baggins bopping along in tow. I kid you not. It's Hobbit music to me... Read More...

Mock-Yeah-Ing-Yeah-Bird-Yeah!

Everybody have you heard? LOL!

We have a mocking bird. Actually we have two, a wonderfully entertaining pair of mockingbirds who have lived in our yard now for two years. It's a lot of fun to watch them going about their birdy business and generally roaming around the yard keeping things in tip top shape, at least that's what it appears they think they are doing. And when the weather is nice enough to sleep with the windows open I enjoy hearing their song pretty much all through the night. It can be 2AM out there and pitch black, and those two will still be busy, busy, busy and singing away. Now that might irk some people, but I love it....

Highland Dreams

Happy June to you all! Wow, that came up on us pretty fast. Spring has been a busy season here with lots and lots of yard business going on and even the beginnings of porch painting. I'm a little behind where I thought I'd be right now, but not terribly.... Read More...

Sprouts!

It's going to be a hot one out there today, especially for it being only early May. They're calling for a high of 88F, about 31C for my overseas friends. I'm guessing that has to be at least 15 degrees or so above normal. *whew* So instead of mowing the lawn today (which is definitely due) I decided to just do a good soaking of all the new flowers sprouting up around the yard and call it a day. Major slacking will ensue.... Read More...

Another good yard day!

Wow, it's a day away from May. Amazing! A visitor writing to me last week about something she had found here on Little Delving (booty!) graciously pointed out that it appeared as if I may have disappeared from the web entirely, if one were to judge from this 'news' section of Little Delving. LOL! Point taken. I've been a bit wrapped up in this first part of the year so far. Just had a few Things To Do, and so I've been away and occupied. But this morning I thought I'd pop in to say hey, offer a Spring Update, and let you know what's been going on.... Read More...

Hello, 2010!

Hello, hello! It’s a New Year again! Funny how that just keeps on happening year after year, huh? Well, this year is off to a particularly good start for me. I spent part of my holiday season in London with my friend V, and we had a really good time. It was great!
Best Holiday Ever. Happy

This is I think the 3rd time now.... Read More...
